Vanguard — your drop pod is down and intact.

From high orbit, before its descent, the pod released a survey satellite. It is mapping this whole world from above even now — that orbital feed is the terrain laid out before you. You can look anywhere on this planet; nothing beyond it, though, until you build the sensors to reach further.

You've made planetfall on an uncharted garden world at the edge of the settled frontier — the first human boots on this dirt. Your pod's fabricator is online; everything else, you'll build from what's around you. Survey it, plant a foothold, and in time reach past it: to the system, and one day the galaxy beyond.
